MUMBAI: 14th May 2025: EKA Mobility, based in Pune, and GreenCell Mobility have received a Letter of Award (LOA) from India’s premier electric bus programme, PM E BUS SEWA’s Andhra Pradesh bus package, to supply and deploy 750 electric buses in 11 cities. The order includes 129 nine-metre buses and 621 twelve-metre buses.
EKA will manufacture and run the buses in cities such as Amravati, Anantapur, Kadapa, Kakinada, Kurnool, Rajahmundry, Nellore, Guntur, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati.
The announcement follows the issuance of a Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) and comes after a similar LOA for 675 electric buses in Rajasthan issued last week.
This order adds to EKA Mobility’s expanding portfolio of public transport projects, which includes recent contracts worth approximately ₹150 crore from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and around ₹400 crore from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
EKA Mobility, a subsidiary of Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is an electric commercial vehicle manufacturer with equity investments from Mitsui Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands). The company focuses on cost-effective electric vehicle solutions using modular design and lean manufacturing.
GreenCell Mobility, backed by Eversource Capital, operates in the electric bus market, providing Electric Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) and related infrastructure. Its intercity brand, NueGo, serves more than 100 Indian cities.
